Sat, Oct 6th, 2012 Flander's Fred debuting Saraveza's NEWLY Remodeled Bad Habit Room

It's not every day that so many special things come together at one time, in one place. An epic beer, stemming from a truly noteworthy collaboration presented in beautiful, familiar space being unveiled anew...

Join us this Saturday, October 6th beginning at 6pm, as Saraveza's newly remodeled Bad Habit Room makes a debut accompanied by a very special, limited release collaboration brew. Powered By Yeast proudly toasts Flander's Fred - the delicious result of Hair of the Dog "Fred" brewed at DeProef in Belgium and blended there with Bockor's Lambic Cuvee. On Saturday, we'll have the opportunity to blend the two base beers in the company of Hair of the Dog legend, Alan Sprints. Its always a treat to have the opportunity to enjoy legendary beers with the people who create them. It's also a lot of fun to try your hand at blending the two base beers that form Flanders Fred. With this special line up, in a great space and other rare Hair Of the Dog beers coming out of Saraveza's cellar this promises to be an amazing evening. We hope you can join us:

6pm Sat, 10/6/12 Saraveza's Bad Habit Room - 1004 N Killingworth Street, Portland, OR

Flanders Fred is a blend of Flanders-sourced Lambic with a collaboratively-brewed version of the famous Hair of the Dog Fred. The result is a deep golden ale topped with a creamy off white head. The nose is complex with notes of lemon, pine, tropical fruits and spice. The palate is rich and layered with toffee, apricot and almond, balanced by some green apple, a hoppy bitterness and barnyard funk. Please enjoy Flanders Fred with food and friends. This beer should pair very well with many cheeses, roasted vegetables and grilled meats. We believe this bottle will continue to evolve beautifully over the next few years, adding a subtle blending of the flavors.
